Character and Narrative: Limitations of 3D Modelling

The 3D industry has developed massively over the years meaning that today 3D work has the potential to be much more realistic. Due to this-as well as the advance in hardware and software-there is consequently a number of limitations when it comes to modelling. The first is file size.

It is very easy when working in 3D to create huge files, so in order to cope with this you may need to invest in a computer or console that will be capable of handling the programs and the imagery you are wanting to create. This means that this could potentially be quite expensive, but this will allow you to find a balance between quality of work and speed. Computers that have a high quality central processing unit will be able to handle larger files, meaning that rendering time will be decreased which will help massively in industry for example, when you may be working towards a deadline.

Not only is the equipment needed to run the programs expensive, it's also going to be costly for training. 3D modelling software can be incredibly complex as there is a wide range of things to can do with it.
